Youth Leadership

The Smith County Youth Leadership program allows students to attend a full-day class once a month during the school year to meet with industry leaders in the community, legislators and anyone making a difference in Smith county.

Youth leadership is the practice of teens exercising authority over themselves or others.  It assists the development in which young people gain skills and knowledge necessary to lead civic engagement, education  and community organizing activities.

Smith County is always looking for new students to join the leadership program.   Students just need to check with their school’s guidance counselor for an application. Members of the Junior class are all invited to participate each year.
